The 8th grade kicked off their fundraiser on February 9th. This year the class is selling food such as pizzas, cookies, etc. All proceeds will go towards their end of the year field trip. Traditionally the 8th grade has taken a trip to Six Flags Great America. However, the final destination this year will depend on how much the 8th grade class raises. The goal is to raise a total of $9,000.
The fundraiser will run February 9th-22nd with all orders and money due the 22nd. Delivery date is set for March 23rd.
If you have any questions or would like to purchase food please see one of our 8th grade students or call the CMS office at 815-626-3300.

Do Your Best on the Test!
Dear Families:
Our school is preparing to take the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) on March 2nd -13th. Our 6th & 8th grade students will take the Reading, Writing and Math ISAT. Our 7th grade students will take the Reading, Math and Science
ISAT. Challand is rated every year by the state based upon our student
performance on the ISAT. Our school would like to work with you to encourage your student to do well on the ISAT.
What can your family do to help prepare students for the ISAT?
Because the state requires every student to be tested and there is limited time for make-ups, your child’s attendance is crucial. Please help your child attend school on testing days and schedule all appointments during non-testing times. If you know ahead of time that your child will be absent for an unavoidable reason, please let the CMS office know as soon as possible. You can also help your child do well on the ISAT by turning off the TV, radio, computer, and video games early on the night before testing. It will give your child a chance to relax and go to bed early so that he or she can more easily concentrate the next day. Hunger can also be a distraction during testing. You can help your child by providing a
good breakfast on the morning of testing.
With your help we can make sure that every student is in attendance and does the best they possibly can on the test. Any questions please post in the comments and i will answer them or you can contact the CMS office at 815-626-3300.
